Our Democracy and Human Rights Training is designed to help young Ukrainians in Sweden understand the fundamental principles that shape democratic societies and protect individual freedoms. Through interactive and engaging sessions, participants learn how democratic systems function, why human rights matter, and how these principles apply to everyday life.

What the Training Covers

  • The core values of democracy and how they operate in Sweden
  • What human rights are, why they are important, and how they are protected
  • Equality, inclusion, and non-discrimination
  • Developing critical thinking and active citizenship skills
  • How young people can participate in community life and influence positive change
  • Real-life examples of rights in practice (school, work, online safety, public services)

Our Approach

The training is youth-friendly, practical, and interactive. Through discussions, real-life cases, quizzes, and simple exercises, participants develop confidence in understanding their rights and responsibilities. The aim is to help young people feel included, informed, and capable of contributing positively to their communities.

Why It Matters

Democracy and human rights education strengthens resilience, supports integration, and helps young Ukrainians understand the systems that protect them in Sweden. It encourages informed decision-making, respect for others, and active participation in democratic life.
