Today, HUG works in 5 core areas: Veterans Recovery, Children and Youth, Mental Health, Social Integration, and Humanitarian Aid – both in Sweden and Ukraine

Humanitarian Aid

HUG ensures reliable delivery of humanitarian aid, medical supplies, and evacuation vehicles to Ukraine through strong partnerships in Sweden and well-established networks on the ground.

Veteran Recovery

Help Ukraine Gothenburg helps Ukrainian veterans and their families rebuild their lives through the Hug for Heroes program, which combines psychological support, peer-to-peer support skills development, and social reintegration.

Social Integration

HUG opens pathways to education, employment, and active participation in Swedish society through language learning, professional skill building, and career development.

Mental Health

Help Ukraine Gothenburg supports the mental wellbeing and emotional resilience of Ukrainians in Sweden through individual counselling, art and dance therapy, support groups, and personal development trainings. Our initiatives help people manage stress, rebuild balance, and find strength in community.

Kids & Youth

HUG creates opportunities for Ukrainian children and young people to grow, make friends, and discover their talents. Our activities include creative workshops, career guidance, psychological support, and social integration programmes that help kids feel at home in their new environment.
